Did you know that 1.3 million people in America are blind? Delta Gamma believes that no one should be without their vision and we make it our primary focus to raise awareness and funds to help those 1.3 million people who are not able to see.
Every fall Delta Gamma hosts a synchronized swimming tournament to raise money for the Delta Gamma Foundation, which benefits those with vision impairments. The event is called AnchorSplash and fraternities and sororities compete, making it not only a great fundraiser but also a blast to watch!
In the Spring Delta Gamma hosts a Spaghetti Dinner at the DG house. The sisters serve the campus community some of their special-made-with-love spaghetti and guests get to enjoy a night of unlimited pasta, salad and bread sticks. All the proceeds go to the Delta Gamma Foundation.
Along with aid to the blind, Delta Gammas focus on spending time with the elderly. The past year Delta Gamma has teamed up with a local nursing home and together host biweekly activities with the residents, such as cookie decorating or flower potting.
The sisters of Delta Gamma enjoy other community service projects like working at adoption shows for abandoned dogs, visiting with the children at Hattie Larlham or donating hand crafted cards to the children at Akron Childrens Hospital.
